This Al Jackson autographed Official Major League Baseball is an outstanding piece of New York Mets memorabilia featuring a special inscription commemorating an important moment in franchise history. Jackson has hand signed the baseball in blue ink and added the inscription “First Mets Win at Shea 4/19/64.”

The inscription commemorates April 19, 1964, when Al Jackson pitched the Mets to their first-ever victory at Shea Stadium. Jackson threw a complete-game shutout as the Mets defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-0, making this signed and inscribed baseball a great piece connected directly to early Mets history.

The ball is an Official Major League Baseball manufactured by Rawlings and features the official MLB markings. Jackson’s autograph and inscription are authenticated by Steiner Sports, with the Steiner authentication hologram affixed to the baseball and the accompanying Steiner Certificate of Authenticity included.
