Vintage Original Lucasfilm Ewoks Big Hug Seri-cel LE /5000 Framed Star Wars COA

Vintage Star Wars: Ewoks “Big Hug” Limited Edition Seri-Cel, featuring characters from Lucasfilm’s classic 1985 Ewoks animated series.

This colorful piece depicts two Ewok characters embracing in the forest of Endor. The artwork bears the Lucasfilm Ltd. Original Limited Edition Seri-Cel marking in the lower-right corner, along with TM & © 1985 Lucasfilm Ltd. All Rights Reserved.

The piece includes its original Star Wars Certificate of Authenticity from Royal Animated Art, Inc. According to the certificate, the artwork was carefully selected from the Lucasfilm archives and recreated using the fine-art process of serigraphy. A separate hand-cut master screen was prepared for each individual color, with each color applied separately and in precise registration to produce the finished artwork.

The Certificate of Authenticity states that this image was limited to a production of only 5,000 pieces. Once the edition was completed, the screens used to create the artwork were destroyed to ensure its limited-edition status.

The certificate was published by Royal Animated Art, Inc. of Chatsworth, California and bears a 1995 Lucasfilm Ltd. copyright. The artwork itself relates to Lucasfilm’s Ewoks animated series introduced in 1985.

The piece is nicely presented with a dark mat and brushed silver-tone metal frame. The overall framed size is approximately 17” x 19”, with the Seri-Cel/artwork measuring approximately 10” x 12”. The original Certificate of Authenticity is retained on the reverse of the framed piece, as shown in the photographs.

This is a wonderful piece of vintage Star Wars and Lucasfilm animation memorabilia, particularly for collectors of Ewoks, classic Star Wars animation, or limited-edition animation artwork.

Condition: Pre-owned vintage collectible in nice overall condition. The artwork displays very well with bright, vibrant colors. The frame, matting, backing, certificate and protective materials show some age, storage and handling wear. The backing paper has some tears/wear, and the COA/protective sleeve is attached to the reverse. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition description.

Included in the sale: Framed Star Wars: Ewoks “Big Hug” Limited Edition Seri-Cel and original Certificate of Authenticity.

Please note: This is a limited-edition Seri-Cel created using the serigraph process, not an original production cel used to photograph an individual frame of the 1985 television series. The accompanying Lucasfilm/Royal Animated Art Certificate of Authenticity explains the production process and limited edition of 5,000 pieces.
